"The simple things -- a
long bowl of sliced bananas and heavy cream dusted with
brown sugar, eggs Benny done Creole-style, a Cajun breakfast
of red-bean-and-ham hash prove that Lucile's knows how to
do comfort food right. For more than 25 years, the kitchen
has made everything from its own hot sauce to apple butter,
pepper-spiked sausage gravy, Creole seasoning (which the
house also sells) and a proprietary blend of house coffee;
the biscuits alone are reason to beatify the chef. In all,
Lucile's serves up the best New Orleans breakfasts this side
of the bayou."

"Thank God for Fletcher
Richards, who, in his wisdom, decided that what the world
really needed was another outlet of Lucile's, his insanely
popular Boulder breakfast joint. And thank God twice that he
decided to open it in Denver. The space he picked is
perfect, with lots of floor space, an upstairs lounge, a
next-door waiting area and a second-floor balcony that makes
the place look like it was lifted right out of the Big Easy
and dropped down on Logan Street. The food is all
Louisiana-style brunch fare, with killer eggs Benny, chicory
coffee, split sausages, thick-cut bacon and beignets dusted
with heaps of powdered sugar...And then, it's laissez les
bon temps rouler -- until 2 p.m., when the kitchen shuts
down for the day." |

"Lucile's,
the quintessential breakfast and lunch spot in Boulder, hits
Denver with a smile and a "hi-y'all." Featuring Cajun/Creole
fare for over 20 years, the menu continues with the same
standards as in other locations...Start with fresh juices,
beignets and a cup of hickory coffee as you decide on your
entr้e. Eggs Benedict, Rockefeller, New Orleans and Jennifer
bring many versions of the standard--all with terrific
hollandaise and your choice of grits or potatoes. Several
omelets, pain Perdue (French toast), granola, oatmeal and
rice-pudding porridge make decisions difficult. If you are
in the mood for lunch, enjoy homemade soup, grilled chicken
salad, muffuletta, or po'boys of sausage or fried oysters.
Entr้es range from gumbo and beans with rice to shrimp
Creole, crawfish ้touff้e or shrimp and grits. No southerner
would miss dessert, and the decadent chocolate-pecan-truffle
torte, bread pudding and banana beignets make for a perfect
ending. Lucile's is a welcome addition to that very popular
breakfast scene in Denver." - Gabby Gourmet |
