Stone Mill
BBQ and Steakhouse is as visually appealing in its decor as it is tasty
with its fabulous barbeque and delicious steaks. The decor
takes a back seat to Stone Mills' superb meats, smoked in-house in the restaurant's two massive smokers and
accompanied by a sweet, mild barbeque sauce or a hot sauce, which
complement the meats nicely. |
|
It's worth a trip here just to gaze at the decor
- a mixture of cowboys, Indians, pirates, jungle adventurers and American
West wildlife - not to mention the unique heavy wooden tables designed and
handcrafted by owners, Steve and Tom.

theme and
thick leather green cushioned chairs. The bar offers domestic
and imported bottled beers as well as a nice selection of draft beers,
a short wine list, handcrafted Martinis and specialty drinks.
The
impressive stone, double fireplace connects the lounge with the main
dining room and is adorned with mantels of split logs. The
fireplace, the decor, and the friendly staff make Stone Mill BBQ and
Steakhouse a warm, inviting place to bring the whole family with a
menu for the Little Wranglers, too. |

"I ordered a
three-meat combo ... the two ribs were huge ... juicy on one end
and tender throughout. The chicken leg quarter had the darkened,
crispy skins from the smoker and good flavor. The star of this
trio was the sliced brisket .. the eight slices on my plate had a beautiful pink smoke
ring around the edge and they showed a pleasing tenderness. The
less conventional strawberry cobbler ... was terrific, topped with a winning crust
and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream."

"Stone Mill BBQ
is a barbeque restaurant you'll want to try. The meat was by far
some of the best I ever had. The pork tenderloin was the
quintessence of tender and had a mildly smoked flavor. The light
pink color of the meat's outer edge indicated it was smoked to
perfection. The ribs were, likewise, tender ... appeared to be of
better quality, a better cut of meat than others I've sampled
about town. The 12 oz New York Strip was, in my friend's
estimation, "Perfect"." |
