"Since 1983, Ryan’s has been a bustling lunch and post-work
drinks-and-apps spot for Honolulu’s young professionals. It’s
also been popular for good, basic food like grilled fish and
rock-salt prime rib. While longtime favorites like the pea
salad and crab-artichoke dip are still on the menu, you can
get more delicate dishes like a pretty-in-pink presentation of
finely minced ahi tartare accented with shiso leaf shreds and
dots of tobiko. Everyone serves seared ahi, but Ryan's
medallions, cooked ever so briefly on only one side, stand
out. This is a spot that’s big on Monday night football, so no
surprise that the vast beer and single-malt selection still
overshadows the wine list. Good to note: Ryan’s is one of the
few places in town that serves decent food after midnight." |

"Something of a neighborhood
grill, Ryan's attracts folks from all walks of life, supplying
them with good food and convenient hours. The terrific menu of
appetizers boasts crab and artichoke dip, poke (seasoned raw
fish), and calamari. Entree options include burgers, pizza,
hearty pastas, salads, and even steak and grilled fish. You'll
also find plenty of draft beers and a satisfying selection of
single-malt scotches. The place gets busy post-workday and
doesn't settle down until late at night. Even better, they're
happy to accommodate!" |
