Numerous spices and herbs,
sometimes described as a cross between Indian and Chinese
cuisine, are characteristic of Thai food. Our menu provides a
temperature rating for spiciness, so you can tickle your taste
buds or light them on fire. All dishes are prepared ala carte
and served family style, which allows you to taste all the
food served at your table. Our servers are very knowledgeable
about the menu, and are more than happy to make
recommendations to suit your taste. |

"Hawaii's Best Restaurants
in Greater Honolulu" |
|
"Mekong I and II are part of the Sananikone
family group, offering many of
the same dishes found at the upscale Keo's but at lower
prices. Everyone orders Evil Jungle Prince, if only for the
dramatic name, but also they serve perhaps the best version of
Pad Thai (fried noodles) in Honolulu, sweet and savory, with
shrimp, chicken, egg, chewy tofu, fish sauce, spring onion and
roasted peanuts. The beef and chicken satay is super (as is
the peanut dipping sauce) and the papaya salad is tart and
refreshing. You can't go wrong here; only the curries are more
seasoned than the servers." |

Honolulu Advertiser,
2003, 2004, & 2005 |
|
"Like other Sananikone family
restaurants of Keo’s fame, fabulous Pad Thai noodles, satay
beef, grilled chicken satay, soups, rice dishes, curries,
seafood, and vegetarian dishes, pad Thai fried noodles and
other delicacies pour out of the kitchen for lunch and dinner
in this lovely restaurant." |

Oahu Drive Guide Magazine,
2005 |
|
"Eminently affordable Thai
cuisine finds a home at this popular establishment, which
delivers all the taste at a fraction that competitors charge.
Whether you crave a fragrant green curry, an always-reliable
pad thai, or a flavor-filled main course that incorporates
local seafood, you'll find it here. Noodle dishes and
vegetarian fare are also available and are so good that you're
guaranteed never to miss the meat." |
