Denver ... 1987,
owners Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick opened McCormick's Fish
House & Bar in Denver's premier historic district. One of the
most distinguished of these buildings is the century-old
Oxford Hotel and in it, award-winning McCormick's Fish House
has established itself as "Denver's best seafood restaurant,"
featuring a daily changing menu of fresh fish. McCormick's
wood paneled main dining room gives the customer a view of the
unique blending of historic and contemporary times of the LoDo
district. Next to the main dining room, McCormick's lively
front bar has become the gathering place for neighborhood
residents and business people alike. |

"One of the
longest-lived eateries in the ever-changing LoDo restaurant scene, McCormick’s
has persevered with a triple-threat of assets. For starters
there’s the namesake dining room, where white-shirted servers
deliver good old-fashioned service and some of the best
seafood in Denver. |
|
|
|
|
Fresh
fish and shellfish are airlifted in daily, the menu includes
steamed, broiled and fried swimmers from points north, south,
east and west.Early
bird specials add extra value for the buck. There’s also
McCormick’s bar, a glorious antique setting that delivers LoDo’s best meal
deal with $2 mini-entrées of seafood, pastas, sandwiches and more. It’s a
mind-blowing bargain that requires a drink purchase, meet the obligation with
one of the house’s fine microbrews. Need more thrills? Slip next door to the
adjoining Cruise Room, where hipsters eyeball each other over martinis and
boutique spirits under the rouge glow of vintage pink neon." |

"McCormick’s, the main dining room in the beautiful Oxford Hotel, is
reminiscent of an old fine-dining fish house, complete with a dark, woody decor
and a waitstaff dressed in traditional white jackets. The staff plays a
prominent role with its knowledge of the daily changing menu, preparations of
the fish, and selections of wine. Choose from a nice array of fresh oysters on
the half shell, or try mussels in curry sauce, seafood-stuffed mushrooms, or
baked Brie and garlic. The fish comes from around the world, ranging from exotic
Hawaiian delicacies to freshwater trout. Sample African perch glazed with soy
and ginger, sole with capers and lemons, or salmon stuffed with shrimp, crab,
and Brie. Choices vary based on the day’s freshest catch, and anything can be
ordered grilled and spiced to your liking. Meat lovers will enjoy the surf and
turf or Colorado lamb chops. Desserts change frequently and are well worth the
extra indulgence. Don’t miss the berry cobbler à la mode." |
