REVIEWS of
Jackie Rey's Ohana Grill in Kona |
"We found out about this
restaurant through Trip Advisor. Yes, the menu is small - but the food was
fantastic. We had the fish special Ono which was out of this world good. We also
had a fish from the regular menu which was fantastic, also. The Mai Thai was
great, as was the service. The word is out on this restaurant, though. We went
on a week night and the restaurant had a wait time to be seated."

"You must try the fish tacos.
Amazing menus for both lunch and dinner. The service was just as fantastic as
the food! You have to dine here if you are in Kona."

"From the moment we walked in, to the moment we
left, the atmosphere and friendliness was VERY WARMING and most inviting!! The
host to the wait staff were GRAND!!!
And then there was the food...GREAT...from the house salad to dinner (NY steak
with a demi glace with mushrooms and grand garlic mash and seasonal vegetables
that were yummy. Though I was so full had to take a Chantilly Cake home...really
glad I did...and the ice cream it came with...perfecto!!!
Many mahalos to The Rey Ohana...you definetly have a new patron who wants to try
IT ALL!!!"

We spent a week in the Kona
area and ate in several places-mostly good- but this was by far and away the
best! The drinks and appetizers were wonderful, only to be surpassed by the
entrees! I am sure the desserts are wonderful too, there was just no
room...Don't miss it!"

"Uphill from downtown Kailua-Kona this bright open
air restaurant is a popular destination thanks to the chef's perfectly prepared
local seafood dishes, and a few juicy meat standards including Korean Style
Short Ribs." |

"For some reason we neglected to review this place
for years. Now we know what we were missing. Locals are the majority of the
customers and Jackie Rey's excels in every detail from well made drinks to
decadent desserts." |

"Here's a refreshing change of pace, a chance to
escape the constant bustle of Kailua-Kona's main
drag and rub elbows with the locals. Cheery, colorful, and relaxed. Jackie Rey's
is a real neighborhood find with a surprisingly sophisticated menu, warm
service, and an impressively talented kitchen staff. ." |
