"The
BluWater Grill has an impressive pedigree. That's reason
enough to give it a try.
The players all were forged in restaurant steel at Ryan's
Grill.
The inside-out California roll was presented quite creatively:
Atop a rounded mold of rice sat avocado, crab and 'ahi, with a
drizzle of wasabi cream and tobiko (flying-fish roe). The
Norwegian salmon chowder was packed with sweet and soft chunks
of salmon, with potatoes and herbs, in a creamy base. The
mango- and guava-glazed ribs with Caribbean slaw was a huge
portion of tender and flavorful ribs.
The white and dark chocolate-chip bread pudding was my
favorite dessert, gooey and chocolaty." |

"With a chef from Honolulu staple Ryan's, BluWater Grill isn't
haute, but it's a suburban crowd-pleaser with dishes like
kalua pig nachos and moist wok-fried moi. The place straddles
the line between family-fun spot and sleek young
professionals’ watering hole. Waterside tables and tiki
torches make it a cool-night winner." |

"The latest Kuapa waterfront
entry is BluWater Grill, tucked in the back of Hawaii Kai
Shopping Center, a few doors away from The Shack. The setting
is serene and cozy, if somewhat hidden ... past one of the
shopping center's main destinations, Longs Drugs. There's
something about the soothing setting and being on the water.
It's pleasant to watch kayakers go by while catching the day's
last light, and being near water has a way of resuscitating
spirits and relaxing the body. The best dish was a season's
special of moi, simply panko-coated and deep-fried, and served
with a sweet Thai chili sauce. Desserts of lilikoi creme
brulee, old-fashioned banana split sundaes and melting dark
chocolate are highlights, making this a great place to stop
after movies at Kahala Mall or Koko Marina." |
